We had the pleasure of seeing a few familiar faces this summer. We left the boat in Italy and took a ferry to Croatia where our friend, Rudy picked us up and drove us to Sarajevo, Bosnia.
He was visiting his homeland and offered to show us his country.
Bosnia is a mountainous country, full of clean rivers, so clean, the locals cup their hands and drink directly from the stream.
Roads that linger and twist along the country side, sturdy brick homes, solid like that their inhabitants, a people resilient and good natured. These are the few thoughts that come to mind when I think of our visit to Bosnia.
Many reminders of the Serb-Bosnian war are found throughout the country.
We visited Rudy’s hometown of Foca.
Spending a short seven days, we learned so much and appreciated the hospitality bestowed upon us. We left with new friends and many new memories to cherish.
